Specifically, the sub-group will:
    • review and discuss recent macroeconomic trends in Bangladesh and seek to give a good understanding of these to all sub-group members;
    • share information on on-going and planned technical assistance in the area of macroeconomics to ensure that donor approaches are appropriate in terms of responding to trends, are consistent with one another and co-ordinated wherever possible;
    • review and discuss macroeconomic policy issues that arise at the national level (Government, civil society or donors), emanate from various international fora (e.g. Global Conferences) or are selected by the LCG sub-group itself;
    • provide input/feedback to the PRSP and other relevant policy/strategy exercises, country strategies of IFIs, UN agencies and bilateral donors and important studies regarding macroeconomics and macroeconomic management in Bangladesh;
    • prepare common statements, as required, to actively contribute to national policy dialogue and promote collective activity around the BDF;
    • liaise with other sub-groups having similar interests to ensure coordination of activities and the avoidance of unnecessary overlaps;
    • maintain a matrix of technical assistance updated every quarter by a nominated member in rotation and circulated to the Sub-group.
