Local Consultative Group Plenary Meeting, 03 February 2013

The first LCG Plenary meeting of 2013 was held on 3 February at the NEC Conference Room of the Economic Relations Division (ERD). The Co-Chairs, Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Secretary ERD and Mr. Neal Walker, UN Resident Coordinator conducted the meeting. Hon’ble Cabinet Secretary Mr. Muhammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan was present in the meeting as the Special Guest and presented an overview of the National Integrity Strategy (NIS). Secretaries of different ministries, representatives from Planning Division, ERD participated in the LCG Plenary along with the representatives of different DPs. The multi-donors supported Aid Effectiveness Project of ERD facilitated the organization of the meeting. |

The LCG Plenary Co-Chairs, Mr. Iqbal Mahmood, Senior Secretary, ERD and Mr. Neal Walker, UN Resident Coordinator successfully conducted the fourth round of the GoB-DP LCG Plenary meeting in this year on 03 October 2012. The meeting was organized by the Economic Relations Division in collaboration with the Development Partners. The meeting took place at NEC-2 conference room of ERD. Senior Government officials of ERD & Planning Division, HoM/HoA’s and DP representatives attended the meeting. The meeting started with the stock taking of the decisions made at the last full LCG Plenary meeting, held on 14 June 2012. More information… |

ERD Senior Secretary, Mr. Iqbal Mahmood and Co-Chair of LCG along with the newly selected Co-Chair of the LCG Plenary, Mr. Neal Walker, UN Resident Coordinator jointly conducted a LCG Plenary meeting, on 14 June 2012. The meeting was organized by the Economic Relations Division in collaboration with the Development Partners. The Government and its Development Partners reviewed progress towards implementing the decisions of the last LCG Plenary held on 28th March, 2012; and discussed challenges surrounding the project formulation and implementation process as well as the procurement process. |

Bangladesh Participation in 4th HLF on Aid Effectiveness
Bangladesh Participation in 4th HLF on Aid Effectiveness The Fourth High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness took place on 29 November -01 December 2011, at the Bexco convention centre in Busan, Korea. Some 3000 delegates reviewed global progress in improving the impact and value for money of development aid and adopted the Busan Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation. The 4th HLF on Aid Effectiveness in Busan, Korea follows the meetings of Rome (2003), Paris (2005) and Accra (2008) that helped to improve the effectiveness of foreign assiatance and the quality of aid relationships. An 10-member Bangladesh delegation led by Hon’ble Finance Minister participated in the Forum.
